Concordia Graduate & Continuing Studies is an approved provider of social work continuing education for MN (MNBSW) and ND (NDBSWE).
Welcome to our course on Self-Care and Wellness for Supervisors and Helpers. Despite the expansion of literature on the topic of wellness in the helping profession, there remains little guidance on the application of wellness in social work/counseling education and practice. This course explores a model of supervision practice which reviews elements of wellness and self-care and provides tools for the supervisor and helper to practice wellness actively in the profession.
This course will guide you through understanding the overall components of wellness and self-care, explore the literature to date on the importance of wellness in the profession, and provide tips for practical application and a model from which to practice. The course will provide opportunities for self-reflection and personalization. After the lecture, a short quiz will be taken to validate understanding of the topic. A certificate will be awarded following successful completion of the course.
